Its an attractice piece of hardware, is very quiet and every game I had played with it looks crystal clear on ultra settings and at least 60 fps. However, when I initially recieved it, every game would crash within 10 minutes of playing them. Full system lockup in fact and would require a hard reset.
I could only run my games on the cards silent mode Upon further research through threads on the interwebs and Newegg reviews I noticed a lot of others were haing the same issues. This is because the Aorus engine program used to overclock the card didn't seem to work in OC and gaming modes as advertised. It would only work without crashes in silent mode.
I understand this doesn't happen with everyone though because a friend of mine has the exact same card and has no issues with it all. This is just a warning that this issue could arise and is the only reason why I am giving it three stars. I even went as far as to try another overclocking program MSI Afterburner to see if that was the issue and it crashed yet again. Verified Purchase.
Card looks awesome and clocks the same as my founders card. The card won't hold that MHz overclock I was looking for, but it holds MHz just like my founders edition. I also have it set to MHz on the memory clock, both are stable. I was pretty amazed when I opened up afterburner for this card. Something I really like and don't like at the same time is the lighting. You can tweak the settings to match though.
I found out why as well. I believe the card has RGBW, which I tested to find that it indeed does have a truly white setting, unlike the motherboard's obvious RGB white that is more blue than anything. Card looks sick and I'm really starting to get into the white and orange theme. I have a bitspower waterblock on my founders card, and since they don't match I'll have to buy another one of these to run SLI.
You'll be happy to know buying this is actually cheaper than the other one anyway though. This is why I continue to come back to Gigabyte. Before buying the Gigabyte Aorus Ti graphics card, I did my research. The fans rubbed against the housing, revved uncontrollably even with their software installed and the unit consistently operated over 85 degrees Celsius. Defective units can happen, so rather then return to Amazon, I went through the RMA process hoping that a new card would deliver everything I hoped when deciding on Gigabyte.
I even coordinated advanced shipping with my credit card, and the result: I have now seen 2 GB video cards fail in virtually the same way, although the second card was worse. Not good. Both cards although extremely heavy in weight suffer from housing construction issues that cause the fans to sound like jackhammers as they rub against the housing.
This is supposed to be high end consumer electronics for advanced computing. I had really high hopes for this card being the center of a great system failed, what an unbelievable disappointment. My advice to anyone reading, do not waste your time and money on this product and as you deal with more advanced levels of support, the friendly customer focus becomes argumentative and accusatory.

As expected the cards breaches the mhz mark, and is rock solid stable at Not the best, but that's the luck of the bin for you.
One thing I wanted to say. I've had such a poor experience with Gigabyte's software. Aorus overclocking part of the software is fine, wish it was more intricate like EVGA's but it's not a deal breaker. Which I try, and it doesn't work. Didn't even bother asking me for specifics about my motherboard. They only troubleshoot their software on their own motherboards. So very impressive. So get the card for the specs, and if you are as lucky as me.

To that end, a lot of equipment goes into thoroughly documenting a graphics card's behaviors. It makes for a good baseline on which Gigabyte builds. The retail card we tested came with an unusually high-quality GPU, which we were able to overclock beyond 2. At default settings, it needed less than 1V. However, since chip quality is a roll of the dice, our voltage and frequency results cannot be considered representative of every sample out there.
Further, its backplate and VRM heat sink are entirely new. Weighing in at a staggering 1. Its gross length is 29cm from the slot bracket's outer edge to the shroud's back. Additionally, it requires an extra 0. The mix of light metal alloys and some plastics feels cool to the touch, following the company's corporate design.
Up top, you'll find a back-lit Aorus logo and a fan-stop indicator. Peeking into the top and bottom reveals that the cooler's fins are oriented vertically. We also spy an elaborate VRM heat sink that dissipates thermal energy from a number of additional components. The card's back side reveals five 8mm heat pipes for the right part of the cooler structure. From this angle, a sixth heat pipe 6mm is hardly visible.
The slot bracket features six display outputs, of which a maximum of four can be used simultaneously in a multi-monitor setup. The rest of the slot plate is dotted with openings for airflow, though they're not functional due to Gigabyte's fin design. Because there are no suitable video switches with six lanes, Aorus employs two controllers, requiring two separate BIOSes. It's a lot more stable than what came before. Thus, we recommend updating to the newest version.
One of the changes Gigabyte implemented was reducing the default mode's power target to W, while maintaining the same clock rates. The lower target proved sufficient; additional headroom wasn't needed to sustain its desired frequencies. Overclockers still have access to targets as high as W via software, though.
Bear in mind the process gets a little tricky due to the card's dual-BIOS implementation, imposed by the aforementioned video switches. Both files are included in the download from Gigabyte's site. At least for now, we strongly discourage using the special OC mode in Aorus' tool. Instead, overclock through third-party apps like MSI's Afterburner utility. A GPU-Z screenshot provides the most pertinent technical information, even if the GPU Boost values we observed were much higher than Gigabyte's official specifications.

This is a die shot of a full-fledged GP Pascal is designed to offer the highest performance for deep learning and other compute performance. Delivering over 5 Teraflops of double precision performance, Pascal is also the most powerful architecture ever inside of a GPU. Just below, is the falcon head logo, taking up about half the front of the box. Under the envelope is a sheet of soft foam that covers the card. The card comes with a dual Molex to 8-pin adapter.
Good in a pinch, but not recommended for long term use. The card comes encased in soft foam and wrapped in an anti-static bag. I love the use of soft foam, much more than the plastic clam-shell packages you see elsewhere. This is true for both models. The middle fan spins in the reverse direction of the two end fans. This helps to optimize the airflow to dissipate the heat faster for higher performance at a lower temperature. This is a great feature and hints toward the overall build quality of the card.
The direction of the stripes on the backplate is not just for aesthetics. The direction of the lines on the copper plate will help to increase the cooling performance by directing airflow across the back of the card. The copper plate helps to direct air flow. The AORUS logo is located on several spots on the card, including the side, back plate and on the center of the cooler, as seen in this photo.
The fans will remain off when the GPU is under a set load or temperature for low power gaming. The composite heat-pipes combines both thermal conductivity and phase transition for better managing the transfer of heat. The heat sink sits at different heights, at different spots. This is to ensure maximum contact with the PCB and its components. This will help to better cool the card.
The large copper base plate makes contact with both the GPU and Memory. The angular and unequal fins height does not only channel the airflow through the fins and enlarge the contact surface but also results in a lower noise level and better cooling capacity.
It is like two regular bridges combined in one PCB. The signal quality of the bridge is improved, however, as the HB SLI bridge has an adjusted trace-length to make sure all traces on the bridge have the same length. The older generation Pro SLI bridges can still be used for resolutions up to and including 4k. The rear of the package shows that this is a single slot bridge. The bridge comes packed in soft foam and covered with protective plastic.
It can even control other RGB backlit peripherals, such as the G. Skill KMR keyboard. There are two modes, basic and advanced. In advanced mode, you can set each RGB zone to a different color and style. The k that was used in testing was running at 5. As in all benchmarks, I do my absolute best to keep all testing fair and as equal as possible. The i7 k was run at 5. For the Gaming benchmarks, the games were run in x p, x p, and x p.
We also tested on a x p ultra-wide. I used Windows 10 Professional due to it being the most recent operating system, as well as having DX12 support. The GPU was set to its stock clock speeds. I ran all aspects of Cinebench. Second was the CPU test. My i7 k scored an impressive CB on this run, with a single core performance of cb. The Heaven Benchmark can be used to determine the stability of a GPU under extremely stressful conditions.
Here are the results. I tested the usual games I test, and I added a new title, Battlefield 1. Released in October , Battlefield 1 has DX12 support and is a beautiful game. The rest of the games are a mix of older and newer titles, with no games older than and Crysis 3 being the oldest of the titles. However, Crysis is 3 still one of the most graphically demanding games on the market. Shadow of Mordor is a title, but still a very demanding game, especially when the 4k texture pack is installed.
Also, the Witcher 3 and Watch Dogs 2 were also tested. They were benchmarked in p, p, 4k and with my recent purchase of an ultra-wide monitor, I started benchmarking games in x p. All games were played at their max settings with 4x MSAA. Each benchmark run was timed at seconds, ran 3 times each, and averaged out to get the overall results. I have also included a screenshot of the advanced graphics settings for GTA V.
There were 8 games tested. A mix of newer titles and a few older ones were run through our tests, but none older than They were tested in p, p, x and 4k. All games were played at their max settings.
